ALPHA RESEARCH CORPORATION S425I ISA Data bus: 16-bit, ISA Size: Three/quarter-length, full-height card Hard drive supported: Four IDE (AT) interface drives Floppy drives supported: Two 360KB, 720KB, 1.2MB, or 1.44MB [Image] CONNECTIONS Purpose Location IDE drive interface (Primary) CN1 IDE drive interface (Secondary) CN2 Floppy drive interface CN3 Hard Drive activity LED JP1 Speaker JP2 USER CONFIGURABLE SETTINGS Function Location Setting » IDE Bus 1 (CN1) resistors JDR0 open open IDE Bus 1 (CN1) resistors JDR0 closed shorted » IDE Bus 2 (CN2) resistors JDR1 open open IDE Bus 2 (CN2) resistors JDR1 closed shorted » Floppy drive enabled JP3/jumper 4 closed Floppy drive disabled JP3/jumper 4 open » Primary hard drive enabled JP3/jumper 5 closed Secondary hard drive JP3/jumper 5 open enabled BIOS ADDRESS CONFIGURATION Address JP3/jumper 1 JP3/jumper 2 JP3/jumper 3 DC000-DFFFFh closed closed closed DC000-DFFFFh closed closed open D8000-DBFFFh closed open closed D4000-D7FFFh closed open open D0000-D3FFFh open closed closed CC000-CFFFFh open closed open D8000-CBFFFh open open closed Disabled open open open MISCELLANEOUS TECHNICAL NOTES When using this controller, the system will see the drives attached to each connector as a single drive. i.e.: if you have two 100MB drives attached to CN1 the system will see one 200MB drive. However, if have two drives you would like to be recognize individually, you may attach one to CN1 and the other to CN2. Closing Jumpers JDR0 and JDR1, which shorts the resistors on the IDE buses, helps to eliminate drive incompatibility caused by different noise filtration methods. This controller supports 256KB, 1MB, or 4MB fast page mode SIMM's, 80nsec or faster. At least one bank must be filled for proper operation.
